The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has called on Kenyans with credible information about individuals reported to have been abducted recently to report to the society's secretariat or any of its regional offices.
In a statement dated December 26, LSK called on family members of the abductees or individuals closely connected to them to come forward and provide detailed information about the incidents.
The society emphasized that such information would aid in documenting the circumstances surrounding the abductions, initiating legal proceedings where rights violations have occurred, and supporting advocacy efforts to hold the perpetrators accountable.
"We express grave concern over the recent rise in abductions. In the face of this troubling trend, the Law Society urges families and close relations of the abducted individuals to come forward with comprehensive and accurate information regarding these incidents.
"We assure the public of our unrelenting commitment to ensure justice is served and to support the families during this challenging time. We encourage members of the public who possess credible information about the abducted individuals to report to the LSK Secretariat or any of our regional offices," LSK President Faith Odhiambo stated.

At the same time, Faith Odhiambo strongly condemned the incidents and demanded that the government immediately disclose the location of the missing individuals.
She emphasized that the government's failure to act decisively and investigate the perpetrators has only served to embolden them and foster a culture of impunity.
"It is insufficient for the Inspector-General of Police to merely deny police involvement in these abductions without explicitly outlining the steps being taken to address these egregious violations. The Inspector-General appears to lack awareness of his mandate under the law or the ability to discharge it effectively," Odhiambo explained.
The LSK boss called for a national dialogue to address the matter, even as she asked Kenyans to use all legal means to thwart the abductions.
"As we continue to advocate for justice and accountability, we reaffirm our unwavering dedication to standing with the people of Kenya. We call upon Kenyans to be vigilant and assist the LSK in not only reporting the abductors and registration numbers of the vehicles being used but also to use all legal means to thwart such acts," Odhiambo remarked.
