ODM leader Raila Odinga has thanked county assemblies and Governors after the passage of the building bridges initiative (BBI) bill.
Odinga stated that despite propaganda and misinformation that had been peddled around the law change process in one year, the assemblies stood firm.
"County assemblies have been able to push back on a year-long campaign of lies, misinformation, and undue influence on a document whose centre piece is ensuring prosperity and equitable sharing of the same
“I thank the members of those county assemblies and our governors who refused to give in to mistrust, cynicism, brinkmanship and fear-mongering and passed the Bill resoundingly," part of the statement by the former premier read.

Out of 39 Counties, 38 assemblies have passed the BBI bill with the exception of Baringo.
A record of 26 counties passed the BBI bill in what was termed as BBI Super Tuesday to join the 12 that passed the draft last week.
The Counties include: Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, West Pokot, Nakuru, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Meru, Nyamira, Narok, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Kitui, Makueni, Lamu, Mombasa, Kwale, Garissa, Machakos, Muranga, Samburu, Marsabit, Bomet, Isiolo, Tanariver, Nyamira and Kisii.
The Bill shall now be introduced in the National Assembly and Senate.
