Former deputy director of communication in the Office of the Deputy President Martha Miano has made a comeback in government after her dismissal last year.
Miano has been appointed to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority for three years.
Her appointment was sanctioned by Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya through a gazette notice published on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Miano's appointment was occasioned by the revocation of Adan Sheikh Abdullahi's appointment.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 (1) (g) (i) (bb) of the Micro and Small Enterprises Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretations and General Provisions Act, the CS for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development appoints Martha Wanjiru Miano as a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority, for three years," the notice read.
Miano served under former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua for two years since 2022.
She was in charge of Gachagua's office's public communication.
Her employment was however terminated in August 2024.
Miano's sacking preceded those of other staff in Gachagua's office after his impeachment in October last year.
Over 100 staffers, including the former deputy president's senior advisors, were sent on compulsory leave.
They were replaced by a new team that current serves under Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
