The bus which was carrying 60 passengers including school children came under fire at the Mbukoi area along the Maralal-Baragoi road.
Two conductors of the bus were killed on the spot while ten other passengers sustained gunshot injuries during the incident.

"They shot both rear tires, causing the vehicle to lose power. The driver was also targeted with two bullets, but they missed him. He then turned off the vehicle, got out, and escaped towards the back, where he took cover,” a witness narrated.
Samburu County Commander Thomas Ototo confirmed the attack saying the bus was under police escort when it came under fire.
The injured passengers were rushed to the Samburu County Referral Hospital to receive medical attention while the bodies of the deceased were also moved to the same facility’s mortuary.
Security agencies have already launched a manhunt for the suspected bandits behind the attack.
The incident comes days a week after at least 20 fishermen were attacked in Todonyang, along the Kenya-Ethiopia border.
So far two bodies have been recovered as the search and rescue for the other missing fishermen continues.
"Further to my earlier update on the ongoing search of missing Kenyans following the Todonyang incident, I would like to report that two bodies of a man and a woman, estimated to be aged between late 20s and early 30s, have been recovered,” Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen announced on Wednesday.
