The Wiper Democratic Movement has dismissed a letter purportedly authored by Dadaab MP Farah Maalim calling for dialogue with leaders, including those in government.
The letter, which bore the Wiper letterhead and appeared to be an official press release, has been dismissed as fake news by the party.
The letter, dated Tuesday, March 11, and allegedly signed by Maalim, claimed that the recent Raila-Ruto memorandum of understanding necessitated urgent discussions about Wiper’s future direction.
However, Wiper has strongly disowned the statement and reaffirmed that Maalim is no longer associated with the party’s leadership.
Wiper quoted Kalonzo Musyoka who had earlier announced Maalim’s expulsion from the party for violating its constitution and making offensive remarks.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Farah Maalim, who until now served as Wiper’s deputy leader, stands expelled for violating the Constitution, infringing on the rights of Kenyans, and making offensive remarks against Kenyan mothers," Musyoka stated on January 15, 2025.

Kalonzo is among leaders who dismissed the Raila-Ruto memorandum of understanding, describing it as betrayal by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the People Dialogue Festival on Friday, March 7, Kalonzo warned that UDA and ODM would still be rejected by Kenyans owing to the policies of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He added that it would be a betrayal if Raila fails to push for the government to compensate Kenyans who were killed and injured during the Finance Bill protests in 2023 and 2024.
"If out of what they are signing at KICC, they do not come with a formula on how to address the injustice meted on Kenyans on June 25 and 2023, that will be betrayal in the city. Handshake or no handshake, Ruto must go," he stated.
