This incident comes a week after thirteen people were confirmed dead following a tragic road accident at Migaa black spot along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The accident occurred on Friday, March 14 at around 2 AM and involved a matatu and a trailer ferrying coffee seeds.

Preliminary reports indicate that the trailer, which was heading to Eldoret experienced brake failure, lost control, and rammed into the matatu trapping the passengers on board.

As a result, all the occupants in the matatu died on the spot, and two others were in the lorry.

Emergency responders were deployed to the site, however, they could not help the victims.

Following the crash, National Police Service Spokesperson Michael Muchiri has called on motorists to be cautious while approaching the Migaa area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

“That area is a known black spot, and we urge motorists to be cautious when approaching there,” said Muchiri.
