Former Kisumu Town West Member of Parliament Kenn Nyagudi is dead. 

Nyagudi passed away on Sunday,  March 23 evening while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula sent his condolences to the family of the former Kisumu West lawmaker saying he interacted with him when he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

“I send my heartfelt sympathies to the family of former Kisumu Town West MP Rev. Kenn Nyagudi. I was privileged to have interacted with him when I was the Foreign Affairs Minister.

“He died this evening while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital. Hon Nyagudi was elected for the first time during the by-election of 2004 after the death of Hon Joab Omino. May his family be consoled and find comfort in the Lord’s arms. May his soul rest in peace,” Wetang’ula stated.

Nyagudi was elected as the Kisumu Town West MP in 2004 during a by-election following the death of Joab Omino.

He served in the position until the 2007 general election when he lost to Olago Aluoch.

In the 2013 elections, Nyagudi contested the Kisumu Central Member of Parliament seat but lost to Ken Obura.

In 2016, Nyagudi was appointed by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the ODM director of E-fundraising and resource mobilization as the party prepared for the 2017 general election.

Beyond politics, the former Kisumu Town West MP kept a low profile, focusing on ventures in real estate and the hospitality industry.
