The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was found dead outside her boyfriend’s rented house with deep cuts on her head.

Police in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County are on the hunt for a man suspected of brutally murdering his ex-wife in a chilling act of jealousy.

In a statement on Tuesday, March 25, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the victim, a 32-year-old woman, was found dead outside her boyfriend’s rented house with deep cuts on her head.

Authorities believe the prime suspect, Alex Kimeli Ng'elel, attacked his former spouse after being angered by her moving on with another man.

"The devastating incident was reported by Saos area Chief Ms Judith Chebon last night, after finding the woman's lifeless body sprawled outside her current boyfriend's rented house with deep cuts on the head," DCI stated.

According to witnesses, the victim was last seen heading to her boyfriend’s house shortly after 8 PM.

However, within an hour, her body was discovered drenched in blood, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood.

"Neighbours who witnessed the horrendous scene with utter condemnation noted to have last seen the victim heading to the said boyfriend's house moments past 8 PM, only for her lifeless body to be found at 9 PM soaked in blood at the compound," the DCI added.

Following the gruesome discovery, detectives from the DCI’s Koibatek division launched investigations and have now turned their focus to tracking down the suspect.

"Detectives from DCI Koibatek have commenced investigations, and the prime suspect, Alex Kimeli Ng'elel (husband), who has since ran into hiding is being pursued," the DCI confirmed.

This comes barely a day after DCI said detectives had launched a manhunt on three robbers who robbed a man in Meru County before defiling his girlfriend.

In a statement on Monday, March 24, DCI said the man and his partner were on a motorbike on Sunday morning heading to their house in Mwitetia, Meru County when they were intercepted by the violent robbers.

“Imenti North detectives, Meru County are pursuing a gang of three violent robbers who Sunday morning accosted a man and his girlfriend, robbing off their valuables before stabbing the man and raping his woman in turns.

“In the 5 am incident reported by the victims, they were heading to their house in Mwitetia from Meru town on a bodaboda, only to be intercepted by the machete-wielding gang at Gakoromone area,” read the DCI statement in part.

The victims were taken to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital by good samaritans where they were treated and later discharged.

“DCI detectives are piecing up leads to the heartless perpetrators, and it is just a matter of time before they are brought to book,” the DCI added.
