Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed claims linking him to a new political party.
In a statement on Sunday, April 6, Mudavadi's office termed the reports concerning and misleading, clarifying that he remains aligned with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
"Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, has noted with concern reports in some media outlets associating him with a new political party.
"For the record and avoidance of doubt, Dr. Mudavadi is firmly in the Government under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance Administration led by H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-In-Chief of the Defence Forces," the statement read.
The office of the PCS further noted that Mudavadi holds senior roles within UDA, including the deputy party leader position.

"Mudavadi believes in high ideals of unity and cohesion and the move to merge his ANC party with the President's UDA party was voluntary and was endorsed by the party members.
"His former ANC party officials are among the highest echelons in the ruling party, including the deputy party leader position. They are key decision-makers in the way of running the political outfit," the statement added.
In January 2025, the President William Ruto's UDA and Mudavadi's ANC officially merged to form a unified political party.
As part of the merger, top ANC officials were assigned key roles within the new UDA leadership structure to ensure smooth integration and representation of both parties.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki retained his position as the 1st Deputy Party Leader under the new arrangement.
Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, who previously served as the leader of ANC, was appointed the 2nd Deputy Party Leader, reflecting ANC’s strong influence in the merged entity.
Kelvin Lunani, formerly the ANC National Chairperson, assumed the role of Vice Chairperson in UDA.
Meanwhile, Emuhaya Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba, who served as ANC’s Secretary-General, took up the position of Deputy Secretary-General within UDA.
In addition to these top appointments, ANC's secretariat staff were also integrated into UDA’s administrative structures.
