DCI boss Amin Mohammed Amin has hit out at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, days after he claimed his life is in danger.

Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Amin Mohamed Amin has hit out at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, days after he claimed his life is in danger.

Addressing the press on Saturday. April 19, Mohamed urged Gachagua to report any matter concerning a threat to his life to the nearest police station instead of engaging in what he called 'media theatrics'.

"If Rigathi Gachagua has an issue in a matter concerning a threat to his life and property, he should go and report to the nearest police station and not engage himself in media theatrics. Any report that comes, just like any other citizen of the country, will be investigated to its logical conclusion," Mohamed affirmed.

This comes days after the former Deputy President raised alarm over a series of violent attacks and alleged assassination attempts on his life.

In a letter dated Tuesday, April 15, and addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, Gachagua said the attacks are part of a coordinated plot involving organized criminal gangs and rogue officers within the police force.

"You withdrew my security in a clear, thought-out scheme and backward conspiracy to make me vulnerable to organized criminal gangs in cohort with the police and other security agencies and have been implementing the scheme," he stated.

Gachagua listed six incidents where he narrowly escaped harm, including an incident on November 28, 2024, during a funeral service in Limuru, Kiambu County, where he was attacked by organized criminal gangs.

"On 28 November, 2024, at a Solemn Funeral Service in Limuru, Kiambu county, I was attacked by organized criminal gangs, my vehicles damaged irreparably, women and children roughed up, property of unknown value destroyed, mourners beaten up as police watched; this was an assassination attempt that failed.
