A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier is currently in a military police custody after presenting himself.
Fredrick Mwazughwa Mwalungwa, who is stationed at the Kahawa Garrison constabulary, took himself to the authorities after the mysterious death of his partner.
According to the police, the duo booked themselves into an apartment in Kitengela on Saturday late evening.
Moments into their date, the woman is reported to have become unconscious with breathing challenges.
The KDF officer sought help from the neigbours, one of whom offered his car to ferry the lady to the hospital.

She was confirmed dead immediately after arriving at St. Paul's Hospital, Kitengela.
"He went with the deceased, who happens to be his girlfriend, to an apartment named Mary Hill House in Kitengela yesterday night at around 10pm...At around 11pm, the deceased became unconscious and developed difficulties in breathing. He raised an alarm, and the caretaker responded. They requested one of the tenants to assist with his motor vehicle registration number KDA 359D to carry the deceased to St.Paul’s Hospital Kitengela where she was pronounced dead on arrival," a police reported seen by Nairobi Leo read in part.
The KDF soldier then decided to take himself to the military police at his station of work.
He was later referred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office in Kitengela, where he was immediately booked.
According to the detectives, the army man is helping in investigations.
The matter was booked under OB 42/27/04/2025.
