Former Public Service CS Justin Muturi has expressed that President William Ruto will be held to account for all the loans taken during his regime.
Speaking in Machakos County on Friday, May 30, Muturi noted that the opposition leaders were keen on ensuring that the President accounts for every shilling should they get power in 2027.
He stated that Kenyans were being overburdened by the excessive borrowing of the Kenya Kwanza regime.
The former Attorney General added that most Kenyans were not seeing any benefit from the loans taken.
Therefore, he warned that the loans that have been misappropriated will have to be returned for public use.

"You will take responsibility for all the bad things that you, together with your friends, have done. We cannot have a leader who is taking loans every day, and we are not seeing what those loans are being used for," he stated
"We want to warn you. The day we get to power, you will have to explain to Kenyans about the loans. Those that have been stolen well have been returned to Kenyans."
Kenya's current debt stands at over Ksh11 trillion, with the figures expected to go even higher due to expected borrowing in the next financial year.
Meanwhile, the opposition leaders opined that the Head of State was not genuine in his apology to the Gen Zs.
According to Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ruto ought to take accountability for the brutality that was meted out on the protesters.
He demanded that the government compensate those who were killed or injured during the protests.
"Mr William Ruto, you cannot give conditional apologies," he stated.
