This trip marks President Pirc Musar's first-ever visit to Kenya.

The President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, has arrived in Kenya for a three-day State Visit.

In a statement on Saturday, May 31, the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs said the visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors. 

The Ministry confirmed that the visit underscores the deepening partnership between Slovenia and Kenya, with a strong focus on economic growth, regional security, and climate resilience.

Musar was officially received by the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi, upon arrival.

“During her visit, President Pirc Musar will hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. President William Ruto, focusing on areas including economic cooperation, development cooperation, regional peace and security, and multilateral cooperation, particularly climate change financing,” the Ministry stated.

Musar is also expected to engage in development-focused activities, highlighting Slovenia’s commitment to supporting sustainable growth initiatives in Kenya and the broader region.

In addition to official engagements, she will be the guest of honor at this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations, scheduled to take place in Homa Bay County.
