President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the national dusk to dawn curfew for an additional 60 days.
According to the President, the curfew extension is key in managing spread of Covid-19 as has been shown by previous data from the past months.
During the address, the President announced a raft of other measures including; restricting persons attending funeral, weddings among other social events.
The President further noted that prediction models indicated that one million Kenyans would have contracted Covid-19 and 150,000 could have died.

He lauded his administration for taking necessary measures to save lives.
"The economy was projected to grow by 6% last year but it only grew by 0.6%. This is the price we had to pay in 2020 for the bold decision we made to save the lives of Kenyans," he said.
"We do not know how this virus will spread or the havoc it will reign on our population," he added.
The President said although economies around the world shrunk Kenya's did not, as he added that the economy is projected to bounce back and grow by 7% in 2021.
