During the applications, those interested will be required to provide details of their National ID or Maisha Card numbers.
Applicants will also be required to provide details of the ward, village, and sublocation of residence.
Those with a history with the National Youth Service will also indicate so.
"To reinforce local accountability, participants are deployed within their home villages. Verification is done jointly by NGAOs, chiefs, and village elders. Vetting also ensures the exclusion of previously suspended workers or known offenders," the National Steering Committee noted.
Works They Will Be Engaged in
The youth who will be successfully recruited will be engaged in road works and other climate-related programmes, such as cleaning the environment.
"Youth are deployed to rehabilitate feeder roads, upgrade pedestrian pathways, and improve drainage and sanitation in informal settlements. This directly contributes to Kenya's climate-resilient urban infrastructure development," read the programme guideline in part.
"In Nairobi County, the programme has already restored 47 km of riparian zones, cleared over 84 km of clogged drainage, and improved over 45 km of walkways and grounds."
Renumeration
Those engaged in the programme will be engaged in shifts of 10 days.
For the general workers, they will be getting a stipend of Ksh500 per day as the supervisors get Ksh580 per day.
All payments will be made through mobile money (M-Pesa).
Notably, the government will also launch another recruitment in the first quarter of 2026 (January to March).
"At its core, the programme seeks to create immediate employment opportunities for over 110,000 youth," read the guide in part.
"This will rise to 200,000 youths in Phase II, with equitable quotas per county. Priority is given to young people between the ages of 18 and 35, with a 50:50 gender parity rule and 30% reserved for persons with disabilities."
