ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has termed the agreement between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) useless.
Speaking on Saturday, June 14, Sifuna said state-linked extra-judicial killings have rendered the political deal worthless.
"Where we've reached in this country, we want action, we don't want words. If you ask me, as Sifuna, that agreement ODM signed with UDA is of no use," he said.
To substantiate his remarks, Sifuna pointed out a series of incidents involving security agencies, including the killing of Albert Ojwang
"How is it possible that we sign an agreement saying 'don't kill our youth,' then a young man is taken from his home, brought to Nairobi, and killed in a cell? Just the other day, two men were taken from Elgeyo Marakwet, beaten, had their hands cut off, and dumped in Nakuru," he added.

Sifuna noted that without real change and accountability, the pact signed between the two political factions holds no weight.
"That's why I'm saying that the agreement is meaningless. It doesn't matter what else Ruto does; that agreement is dead. We can't keep talking every day," he declared.
This comes two months after Sifuna dismissed the notion of a 'broad-based government,' describing it nonexistent.
Speaking on Wednesday, May 7, he insisted that there is no such recognized structure in place, noting that all current government positions remain under the exclusive control of Kenya Kwanza.
“This thing called broad-based government, I don’t know where it exists. Personally, I don’t recognize any entity called broad-based. There is a government of Kenya Kwanza under the leadership of President Ruto, and every CS serving in that government serves the Kenya Kwanza government.
"Some of the individuals who joined the government recently think they joined to represent their ethnic communities,” he said.
