Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of 10 counties on Thursday, July 31.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 30, the company said the outages, expected to last between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., are part of planned maintenance works.
In Nairobi County, four major regions will be affected, including Karen and Dagoretti Road which will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Dagoretti Road, Warai North, Warai South, Three D Lane, Miotoni, World Vision, Nandi Road, Montessori Centre, Windy Ridge, Pepo Lane, Link Road, Mdodo Lane, St. Christopher International School, and surrounding customers.
Part of Ngong Road will also be without electricity during the same hours.

This includes Nairobi Baptist Church, Coptic Hospital, St. Nicholas Junior & Senior Schools, Golf Club, Muchai Drive, China Center, part of Rose Avenue, Argwings Kodhek Road, George Padmore, Marcus Garvey, Kindaruma Road, Kamburu Drive, Chaka Place, parts of Chaka Road, Tigoni Road, Timau Road, part of Kabarnet Road, and the Nursing Council.
Part of Parklands will be affected, particularly Kusi Lane, 2nd Parklands, Msanaka Road, Ndovu Ahmed Road, Bulema Road, and nearby customers.
Githunguri and Sewage areas in Nairobi South Sub-county will also experience outages.
Affected locations include part of Githunguri, Ottomatt, Kwa Eng. Ngunyi, Corner D, Corner C and environs, Ceper Progressive School, Githunguri Booster, National Oil Githunguri, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Twin Court, Pima Court, Royal Court, and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, parts of Mathioya, Mioro, and Kihoya will experience power interruptions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Kiru Tea Factory, Gatunguru Tea Factory, Gitereki, Mioro, Kihoya, Wanjerere, Kiambuthia, Kiriti Tea Factory, the residence of Hon. JJ Kamotho, Kiriti Girls, Gacharageini, Kiawambogo, Kirimahiga, Kagongo, Magomano, and surrounding areas.
In Kirinyaga County, residents in Joy Millers, Kianjiru, and Mururi will be affected from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas to be affected include parts of Kutus Town, Joy Millers, Kamligua Polytechnic, Kathata Village, Kangu Villa, Kianjiru Market, Kamutithi Village, Mururi Market, Urumande Primary School, Gacatha Village, and surrounding neighborhoods.
In Meru County, outages are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Akaiga, Kunati, and Mulika areas.
Affected places include Mutewa Secondary School, Mikinduri Dairy, Akaiga, Kooju Market, Kaathi Primary, Kamujine Dispensary, Kunati Market, Ngongoaka Primary, Mulango, Ametho, Athwana Mikinduri, Amatu, Mulika, Karatina Dispensary, Ruuri Market, Kiguru Primary, Marega Secondary, and nearby areas.
In Machakos County, power will be off along Kangundo Road from Joska to Nguluni between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
This includes the entire Koma Market, Kantafu Market, Malaa Market, Kware, Mutalia, Joska, Sunshine, Kenanie Leather Industries, Bridan, Ngalaya, St. Phillips Neri Joska, Quickmart Joska, and all quarries and crushers at Muusini and adjacent areas.
In Nandi County, the Kesogon area will experience a power outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kisumu County, Pap Onditi and surrounding areas will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Affected locations include Onyuongo, Moro School, Pap Onditi Market, Bungumeri School, Olembo School, Kipingi Center, Olwalo School, Kawiri Primary, Nyabola School, and adjacent neighborhoods.
In Homa Bay County, in Oyugis, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Riat Market, Otunga Water Project, God Nyango Primary, Aolo Girls, Saye Mixed Secondary School and Market, Yadh Welo Primary, and surrounding areas.
In Kiambu County, power cuts will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Avoil Industry, Kiganjo, and Kamenu areas.
Impacted institutions and neighborhoods include the whole of Kiganjo, Alternative Energy, Kiangombe, Kamenu, Kenyatta Secondary School, Athena Primary School, and nearby customers.
In Mombasa County, the entire Nyali area will experience a full-day power outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected roads and estates include Links Road, Moyne Drive, Simba Road, Coral Drive, Parklane, Oleander Drive, Greenwood Drive, Impala Road, Twiga Road, Greenwood Lane, Beach Road, Nyali Plaza, Nyali Enclave, Oshwal Academy, Mount Kenya Road, Nyali Barracks, Fidel Odinga Road, Kongowea and Chandarana.
Tamarind, Nyali Cinemax, English Point, Showground, Mkomani, Chaina Square, Texas Alarms, Kengeleni, Fairdeal, Leisure, Karama, Nyali Beach Hotel, Mombasa Beach Hotel, Quickmart Nyali, Premier Hospital, Mogadishu, Links Estate, Palm Garden Estate, Bustani Estate, Maweni, Harambee Estate, Kongowea Catholic, Umoja Estate, and nearby areas will also be affected.
