Motorists using Thika Road were stuck in traffic for hours on Thursday June 26, morning.
This is after a section of the road was barricaded by concrete median barriers during the Wednesday, June 25, protests.
The concrete barriers are placed in Githurai 45, Roysambu area, and near Garden City Mall.
Motorists were forced to change lanes in the three sections to avoid the huge barriers, resulting in heavy traffic along the busy highway.

On Wednesday, hundreds of youths turned up along Thika Road to mark the first anniversary since the deadly June 25, 2024, protests.
The protestors blocked the highway with the concrete barriers and lit up bonfires, rendering the road impassable.
Police officers dispatched to maintain order were met with hostile protestors who hurled stones at them.
The anti-riot officers hurled teargas canisters at the protestors, who ran away from the teargas but kept coming back.
The running battles between the police and the demonstrators went on the whole day until dusk, when the protests cooled down.
On June 16, motorists plying Thika Road were again stuck in traffic for hours after a school van was involved in a road accident near Garden City, blocking the busy section.
The accident resulted in a huge traffic snarl-up from Githurai 45 to the accident scene near the Garden City in both sections heading to Nairobi CBD.
