The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has notified motorists using Mombasa Road of an imminent traffic disruption.
The agency attributed the disruption to a planned installation of beams on the Syokimau Railway Footbridge.
According to KeNHA, the installation will hamper traffic for 24 hours between Saturday midnight, July 12, and Sunday midnight, July 13.
To be affected will be the traffic from Nairobi headed to Mombasa.
Nairobibound lanes will be uninterrupted.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Syokimau Railway Station will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa-bound carriageway from Saturday, 12th July, 2025 (midnight) to Sunday, 13th July, 2025 (midnight). This is to allow for the installation of the fabricated footbridge beams of the Syokimau Railway Footbridge," the agency's statement partly read.
KeNHA published a mapping diagram to demonstrate how traffic will flow during the period.

The Mombasa-bound motorists will not access the road between Syokimau and the exit near Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Traffic from Nairobi headed to Katani, Mlolongo, Syokimau Railway Station, Teco Mall, and the adjoining roads will be blocked.
KenHA counselled the motorists on the affected section to cooperate with marshals and traffic police on site and observe the communications on the signage.
"KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," read KeNHA's statement on Saturday," it said.
