Kenya Power has announced that several parts of the country will experience planned power outages on Wednesday, July 23, due to scheduled maintenance works.
In a statement on Tuesday, July 22, the company said the interruptions will affect areas in Nairobi, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu, Migori, Nyeri, Meru, Kitui, Mombasa, and Kwale counties.
In Nairobi County, two major areas will be affected, including Mbagathi Way, where a power outage is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Areas expected to be impacted include Madaraka Garages, Geomap, Kenyatta Hospital Flats, Mbagathi Way, Ngumo, Kibera Laini Saba, Undugu, Nyayo Highrise, Nairobi West Prison, Sunshine School, Montezuma/Umash Funeral Homes, City Mortuary, Riara University, KMTC, and surrounding areas.
The second area in Nairobi is parts of Waiyaki Way, also from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Affected locations include Uthiru Shopping Centre, Kapenguria Road, Kabete Vet Lab, Mugi Road, Uthiru Muthua, Uthiru Girls, Mukiri Road, Muchene Road, Co-operation, Uthiru 87, Shell Uthiru, Muhuri Road, and parts of Kinoo.
In Kiambu County, residents of Kikuyu Town and the Magana area should prepare for a power outage from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The interruption will affect Kikuyu Town, Kidfarmacco, Magana Complex, Muthiga, Gitaru, Universal Corporation, Rungiri, and adjacent locations.
Uasin Gishu County will also be affected, with power interruptions scheduled in Mwanzo, Kidiwa, and Majengo from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Areas such as Mukoya Quarry and nearby customers will be affected.
In Migori County, the areas of Radienya and Karangi will experience a power outage from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Specific locations include Mikei, Radienya, Wiga, Kakula, Karangi, and adjacent customers.
Nyeri County will see outages in two regions. The first is Muruguru and Kiamuiru, where power will be off from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Affected places include Muruguru Secondary and Market, Kiamuiru School and Dispensary, Muruguru SDA, Kigera, Satima Mills, Ngibuini, Githiru, Marua Market, Rukandu, FK Resort, and nearby areas.
The second region is Munyu and Kimahuri, also from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Residents in parts of Munyu, Snow View Academy, Warazo Jet, Kimahuri Dispensary and Market, Ndathi, Kabaru, Mbau Sawmills, and Mountain Lodge will be impacted.
In Meru County, Muruguma and parts of Kinoru will be affected by a planned outage from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The blackouts will affect areas including Muruguma, Naari, Gatimene, Gathuine, Mchogomone, Kirigo, Rukuru, Figure, Gatobora, Nyayo Tea Zones, Old Minas, Bible Baptist, Office of the Women Rep Kinoru, Nkuriga Booster, BBM Academy, St. Dominic Rukuru, and Kigure Market.
Kitui County will also experience power interruptions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Katse and Ciampiu Market areas.
Locations such as Katse, Kimangao, Mbangwani, Muvinge, Mikwa, and adjacent customers will be affected.
In Mombasa County, Mikindani will undergo scheduled maintenance from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The outage will affect CSL, Karibu and Dola Flour Millers, Sea Harvest, Mikindani Estate, and surrounding areas.
In Kwale County, the areas of Kombani and Ng’ombeni will have no power from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Affected areas include Coast Calcium, KSG Matuga, Kombani Secondary, Matuga, Voroni, Bethany, Matuga, Ng’ombeni Primary and Secondary Schools, and Waa Boys and Girls High Schools.
