The widow of former Juja MP Francis Waititu Munyua, Susan Waititu, has been given the Jubilee party ticket in the upcoming by-election.
Njeri emerged the winner after she garnered 1596 votes against her closest rival Joseph Ng'ang'a who accumulated 898 votes in the party primaries.
Senior Kiambu Kenya Post-Primary Education Teachers Union (Kuppet) and Kenya Women Teachers Association (Kewota) branch officials vowed to throw their weight behind Njeri.
Last week Kuppet urged teachers in the constituency to turn out in large numbers and vote for Njeri during the Jubilee nominations.

Waititu’s firstborn son Michael Munyua declared he was supporting his mother, thereby quelling rumours that he was going to oppose her.
Munyua spoke amid speculation that he was going to back one of his stepmother’s opponents over an alleged family feud.
He was accompanied by two of his sisters, Terry Njeri and Christine Munyua.
The Jubilee party primaries in Juja were marred with low voter turnout as allegations of voter bribery and harassment emerged.
During the voting exercise, Njeri called on Juja residents to observe peace noting that so far there hasn’t been any incidences of scuffles.
