Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday, August 5, chaired a Jubilee Party National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.

In a statement after the meeting, the party noted that the meeting marked the first NEC session to be convened following the conclusion of a series of court battles that had disrupted the party’s leadership structure.

During the meeting, the NEC deliberated on several pressing matters affecting the party, with a key focus on rejuvenating Jubilee's presence and role in the country’s political landscape.

According to the statement, three core areas formed the basis of the discussions, including a comprehensive review of party affairs and an assessment of the progress made on ongoing programs.

The party also discussed strategic plans for reinvigorating the party's structures and operations across the country.

“The leadership reaffirmed its commitment to restoring Jubilee Party's central role in national political discourse and serving its members with renewed dedication,” the party said.

On Saturday, June 12, the Milimani High Court upheld resolutions from the Jubilee Party’s May 2023 National Delegates Convention (NDC), effectively nullifying a previous ruling and reinstating Uhuru as party leader.

That decision also validated leadership changes made during the convention, including confirming Jeremiah Kioni as Secretary‑General and Saitoti Torome as National Chairperson.

The Registrar of Political Parties subsequently issued a special gazette notice on June 30, 2025, formally codifying Uhuru’s leadership and validating the new executive lineup.

Political figures, including Moses Kuria, welcomed Uhuru’s return, framing it as beneficial for national unity and stability amid rising political tensions.

"Congratulations, my senior brother, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for winning back control of the Jubilee Party.

"At a time when there is a competition to burn Kenya through escalation, emotions, and divisions, the Jubilee Party under your stewardship has a major role to play in keeping Kenya safe. The future is luminous," he stated.
