Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in six counties on Wednesday due to planned maintenance works.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in six counties on Wednesday, August 6, due to planned maintenance works.

In a statement on Tuesday, August 5, the company said the affected counties include Kajiado, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Nyeri, Murang’a, and Tharaka Nithi. 

In Kajiado County, the outage will affect parts of Isinya along Pipeline Road from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas to be affected include Technosteels, Kingsun, Inkiito, Nandorit, Enchoroi, and adjacent customers.

In Trans Nzoia County, power will be interrupted in parts of St. Joseph’s and Birunda from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include St. Joseph’s Girls and Boys, Chepsaita, Birunda, Sikulu, Kiungani, Wamuini, Airstrip, Engo Resort, Sister Fridah Kiminini, and surrounding customers.

Nandi County will also experience an outage from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in parts of Kamobo and Chebut. 

Areas affected include Kamobo, St. Peters, Mother Francisca White Cresent, Chebut Tea Factory, and nearby residents.

In Nyeri County, power will be interrupted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mwanda and Kiaruhiu. 

Affected locations include MOW Karatina, Brookfield Academy, Karatina Jambo, Yacob Deen, Mwanda, Ndaro-ini, Kiunyu, Gatundu, Thenge-ini, Ihara, Kamunyaka Tea Factory, Miiri Tea Factory, Kiangai Market, Thunguri Tea Factory, Karerahungu and Kianwe.

Kiahiti, Kiriko, Gikororo, Kahuru, Kianjuu TBC, Ndima Tea Factory, Mathia Market, Kiriko Village, Kiaruhiu Market, Chehe TBC, Gathaithi, Karandi, Gitangaruri, Kianyaga, Kiangumara, Ndima Kanini, Kahuro, and both Safaricom and Airtel boosters will also be affected.

Similar interruptions will also occur in Murang’a County, where parts of Mwanda and Kiaruhiu will be without electricity from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting the same areas listed in Nyeri County.

In Tharaka Nithi County, power will be cut in Kiaritha Market and surrounding areas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas to be affected include Kiaritha Market, Kamboi, Kabururu Market, Marembo Market, Makanyanga Market, and nearby customers.
