Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across seven counties on Thursday, August 28.
In a notice issued Wednesday, August 27, the company said the outages are meant to facilitate planned maintenance works.
In Nairobi, the blackout will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect part of Mowlem, part of Umoja Three, and adjacent customers.
In Trans Nzoia County, the outage will also run between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and will affect Bikeke, Alakara, Nyakinywa, Maili Saba, Machungwa 51, Kapkoi, Moi’s Bridge, Kona Mbaya, Loreto, Nzoia, Matunda Hospital, Mbururu, and surrounding areas.
In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Karanjee, Loreto Girls, Tigoni Hospital, Tigoni Police, Limuru Golf Club, Brown Cheese, Chisire Home and Muguga Pyrethrum.

Kabuku, St. Paul University, Redhill Heights, Solvein Suites, One Redhill, Wet Farm, St. Julian’s, Tropical Heat Karura, Munyaka, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Mombasa County, the entire Likoni area will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The outage will affect Manyatta Hospital, Base Titanium, Kenya Ferry, Kenya Navy, NYS, Zamaria, Kaydee, Supa Loaf, Mwahima Hospital, Bomu Hospital, Aga Khan, Diani Beach Hospital, Shika Adabu and Kona Mbaya.
Other affected areas include Mwangala, Mbuta, Shonda, Ngumungumu, Bububu, Cooperative, Memo, Musdalifa, Vanga, Makae Mema, Msikiti Nuru, Ofisi ya Jaara, Furaha Gardens, Jet Bar, Casurina, Mwahima Secondary, Maji Safi, Pungu Villas, Brazil, Kwetu Beach, Tijara, and adjacent customers.
In Taita Taveta County, Taveta and Maktau areas will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. affecting Taveta Town, Customs, California, Chachewa, Lesesia, Eldoro, Madarasani, Kitobo, Maktau, KWS Maktau, Lumo Conservancy, Hotels Godoma, Kwa Mnengwa, and adjacent customers.
In the same county, Mwatate Town and its environs will also be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., including Teita Sisal Estate, Kenyatta High School, Kipusi, Josa, Kishamba, and nearby areas.
In Kilifi County, parts of Kikambala will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The areas listed include Baharini Primary, Baran Kenya Kikambala, Kadzengo, Afrique Stones, Africa Fuels, Fuhua Kikambala, My Pasta, Pwani Oil Purification Plant, parts of Bodoi Stage, Mega Apparel and Afriware EPZ.
Revital EPZ, Kijipwa, Eagoil Vipingo, Vipingo Center, Awali Estate, Palmridge, Maridadi Farm, Vipingo Slaughter, Shariani Town, and adjacent customers will also be affected.
In Tana River County, the scheduled power cut will last from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in parts of the region. Areas set to be affected include Ijara Town, Masalani Town, Wenje Centre, Majengo Water Pump, and nearby customers.
