Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula are leading a Kenyan delegation to Algeria for a continental trade forum.
Wetang’ula confirmed the trip in a statement on Wednesday, September 3, noting that they will represent Kenya at the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) in Algiers, alongside Members of Parliament and other officials.
"Alongside Deputy President H.E. (Prof.) Kithure Kindiki and a delegation of Members of Parliament, we departed for the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) in Algiers, Algeria, Africa’s premier platform for trade and investment," he said.
Wetang'ula explained that the trade fair is a platform aimed at deepening African economic ties and advancing the continent’s development goals.
It is expected to showcase investment opportunities, promote business linkages, and strengthen the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

"Organized by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the AfCFTA Secretariat, the fair seeks to boost intra-African trade, drive industrialization, promote value addition, create jobs, and strengthen the continent’s global competitiveness.
"IATF2025 provides a unique platform for businesses to tap into the integrated African market of more than 1.4 billion people with a combined GDP exceeding $3.5 trillion under the African Continental Free Trade Area," he added.
The trade fair will take place from September 4 to 10 at the Palais des Expositions du Pins Maritimes in Algiers, Algeria.
The event is hosted by the Government of Algeria and organized by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the AfCFTA Secretariat.
IATF2025 is expected to attract over 2,000 exhibitors from nearly 140 countries, alongside around 35,000 participants from about 75 nations.
The fair will cover a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, industry, energy, finance, transportation, health, research and innovation, startups, technology, value addition, creative industries, and the automotive sector.
Key programmes include the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX), which will showcase Africa’s cultural and creative industries and the Africa Automotive Show, highlighting automotive manufacturing; the Trade & Investment Forum for policy and sectoral discussions.
Another notable programme is the Diaspora and Youth Engagement Programmes, including startup and innovation platforms.
