The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast rainfall in some regions of the country this week.
In a statement on Monday, September 15, the Met department predicted rainfall to be experienced in sections of the Central Highlands, which includes Nairobi County.
The rainfall is also expected in the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and the Coast regions.
“Rainfall expected in sections of the Central Highlands, including Nairobi, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Western Kenya & the Coast,” read part of the forecast.
The Met department noted that most parts of the country will experience sunny and dry conditions throughout the week.

The Coast, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya regions are expected to experience daytime temperatures of above 30°C.
Meanwhile, parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and Mt. Kilimanjaro region will experience nighttime lows of below 10°C.
Further, the weatherman warned that strong southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots are expected over the coastal region this week.
The strong winds will also be experienced in the South-eastern Lowlands, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya regions.
“Strong southerly to south-easterly winds >25 knots (12.86 m/s) over the Coast (and Kenya’s territorial waters), South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern & North-western Kenya,” the Met Department stated.
In the previous review, the weatherman predicted rain in the Highlands, East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and parts of the Rift Valley.
According to the department, the highest 24-hour rainfall was recorded at Khalaba Station in Bungoma County, which received 67.3mm on September 8.
Mandera experienced the highest daily maximum temperature at 38.6°C on the same day, while Nyahururu recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 6.1°C.
