Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions across several parts of the country on Tuesday, September 23.
In a notice on Monday, September 22, the company said the outages are meant to allow for essential maintenance works.
In Nairobi, parts of Kileleshwa will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The outage will affect Githunguri Road, Githunguri Close, Tabere Crescent, Kangundo Road, Kuguru Close, and adjacent customers.
In Machakos County, areas along Kangundo Road will also be hit by the blackout during the same hours.

The affected locations include College Road, Miwani, Manza, Sweet Waters, Scott, Kusyomuomo, Mumbuni, Kathiani, Ngoleni, Kaviani, Nzaikoni, Kwa Musyoka, Tumba, Mutituni and Ng’eleni.
Ivumbuni, Mua Kyasila, Ivovoani, Kivutini, Kaloleni, Ngelani, Kisekini, Thinu, Kamuthanga, Mitaboni, Miumbuni, Kenol, Masokani, and surrounding areas will also be affected.
In Uasin Gishu County, Lorwa Village, Kamoiywa, Kipsangui, and nearby areas will be affected between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Vihiga County will see interruptions from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Kinu Market, Kapkerer, Ivola, Jebrock Market, Musiri, Kapchengun, part of Gambogi, Guvudemesi, Mutavi, Likindu, Marinda, and nearby regions.
In Homa Bay County, the areas of Wiobiero, Rodi, Marram Market, Aluor Market, Marindi Market, Kuja, and adjacent places will also go without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Murang’a County, power will be off in Marino, Njiris High School, Mairi, Njauni, St. Deborah, Ikohokoho, Gatiaini, Ciakahii, Ciakairitu, Gitwe, Ngecha, and surrounding areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Nyeri County will face outages in two regions, Witima and Gaikundo, including Witima Market, Ichamama Coffee Factory, Kagumo Market, Gaikundo Coffee Factory, Witima Secondary, Gaikundo Market, Gikira Hydro Power, Mbari ya Ndiga, and nearby areas.
In addition, Kahuta-Ini and Mukahaka-Ini, including Ndima-Ini Village, Kahuta-Ini Village, Kahuta-Ini Primary School, Muhaka-Ini, Kiriko Village, Kianyange Village, Mutuma-Ini Village, as well as Safaricom and Airtel boosters, will also be affected.
Both areas will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Meru County, Gakurine, Kiandiu, Chungu, Kwiriro Market, Runongone Airtel, Kaithe Market, Kithoka, Fred’s Academy, Thiri Cultural Centre, Bishop Lawi Imathiu Primary and Secondary, and Kithoka Ripples will experience interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Isiolo County residents in Isiolo Town, Kiwanjani, and Tururoba will also be affected, with outages scheduled for areas such as Kambi ya Juu, Kula Mawe, Soko Mjinga, Mwangaza, County Assembly, Silver Bell, 19 Coins, Glados Hotel, Basalinga, Total, Shell, Cereals Board, General Hospital, Downtown, Police, Safi Estate, and Bulla Pesa.
The blackout will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kirinyaga County, power will be cut off between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Kiamutugu Market, Karucho Market, Mbiri Market, parts of Kanjuu Market, Bishop Gitari Primary School, Gathoge Market, and parts of PI.
Kwale County residents in Galu and Sonrisa will be affected.
Lantana Galu, Lala Galu, Diani Beach Park, Pinewood, Koromandale, Sonrisa, Chale, and surrounding areas will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mombasa County will see blackouts in two main areas. Mtongwe and Longo, including Kenya Navy, Mtongwe Dispensary, KD Flats, Mtongwe Township, Longo, Mtongwe Secondary, Lamariiah, Mwenza, Peleleza, and Jamvi la Wageni, will have no power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Moi Avenue and Auto Express areas will also be affected during the same hours, covering Uhuru Gardens, Best Electronics Mall, Red Cross Mombasa, Nairobi University Mombasa, AAR Healthcare, FIDA Kenya, Chloride Exide, Auto Express, Toyota Kenya, CFAO Mombasa, Dakika Motors, and surrounding areas.
In Kilifi County, parts of Vipingo will face power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected locations include Shariani, Rea Vipingo, Kongoni, Junju Village, Vipingo Beach Properties, Buren, Kuruwitu, Mferejini, Msumarini, Kikambala Paradise, Ndindiri, Kadzinuni, MCL Booster, and Shauri Moyo.
