Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of eight counties on Friday, October 3.
In a statement on Thursday, October 2, the company said the outages are scheduled to facilitate routine maintenance works.
The planned interruptions will affect parts of Nairobi, Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kakamega, Murang’a, Nyeri and Meru counties.
In Nairobi County, power will be cut off in Westlands from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas affected include Part of 3rd Parklands, Suswa Ra, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, Mpaka Road, Part of Parklands, Msnaka Road, Ndovu Lane, General Mathenge and adjacent customers.

In Kericho County, the outage will affect Sireng Dam and surrounding areas including Boror Primary School, Kipsegi, Murotai Primary and adjacent customers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Uasin Gishu County, areas of Olar and Endanai will experience interruptions from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Olare, Ngarua, Ainabkoi, Ndanai, Chelachbei, Kapkeno, Kapchorwa, Rukuin, Kaptega, Kewet, Cheboror and adjacent customers.
In Kisumu County, power will go off at Masogo Market and nearby areas including Ombei Market, Onyabiro, Othoo Market, Ngere Market, Ogilo and adjacent customers from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kakamega County, Khwisero, Mulwanda, Khumsalaba, Emalindi and adjacent customers will be affected by an outage scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Murang’a County, the areas of Mesco and Makuyu will face interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Kandani Primary, Kandani Secondary, Ndonga Shopping Centre, Githembe Catholic, Githembe PCEA, Githembe Market and adjacent customers.
In Nyeri County, two areas will be affected.
Kiawara and Ruirie will experience a power cut from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., impacting Kiawara, Lamuria, Bellevue, Kabendera, Ruirie, Kariminu, Tanyai, Nairutia, Mugunda, Ngobit, Kariguini, Mahiga Meru, Matopeni and adjacent customers.
Additionally, Nyaithee will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering Nyaithee C/Fact, parts of Ithekahuno Village, Karathi, Gathiruini and adjacent customers.
In Meru County, a major interruption will hit Mitungu Market and surrounding areas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected areas include Kithino, Kamujwa, Kithakanaro, Mutiokiama, Maraa Market, Materi Girls, Tharaka Ginnery, Kithatu C/Fact, Kithatu Sisters, Kamiguru, Makandune Market, Rikana Primary, Gakurungu, Kauthene, Gakirwe, Mamuru, Rwombo and Kibuka Primary.
Gacigogoni, Ithitwe, Gaceero Primary, Kanywee, Manthi Primary, Kathithine, Gimu Farm, Nyomba ya Ethi, Oasis, Muthagene, Kithakanaro, Karimaiga, Sahara City, Maraa Market, Tunyai Market, Tulivu Gardens and adjacent customers will also be affected.
