The legal battle stems from charges filed in November 2024.

Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti has lost a court case against Mavoko parliamentary aspirant Felix Mambo in a defamation suit.

In the ruling passed on Tuesday, October 7, Mavoko Law Courts dismissed the Governor's application to revoke Mambo's bond ahead of the final judgment that had been scheduled for November 17, 2025.

"From what is presented before me, there are no compelling reasons to warrant cancellation or revocation of bond for the accused person, and therefore that application as presented has no merit, and I dismiss it," the Judge ruled.

The decision represents a significant setback for Governor Ndeti, who had been seeking to have Mambo's bond cancelled as the defamation case progressed through the courts.

The legal battle stems from charges filed in November 2024, when Mambo was charged with publishing false information about the Machakos County boss under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.

Mambo appeared before Chief Magistrate Barbara Ojoo at Mavoko Law Courts, where he faced allegations of spreading unverified claims about Governor Ndeti and her son on social media platforms.

The prosecution alleged that Mambo, working with others, published statements designed to create panic, chaos, or violence among Kenyans.

Court documents indicated that he posted content on social media suggesting impropriety, which he allegedly knew to be false.

The court proceedings attracted considerable political interest, with sitting Mavoko MP Patrick Makau King'ola present to show support for Mambo throughout the hearings.

The legislator's presence was seen as a demonstration of solidarity among local leaders advocating for democratic principles.

Following the ruling, Mambo expressed appreciation to the judiciary for its decision.

"This ruling is a victory for all Kenyans who believe in the power of speaking the truth," Mambo stated, calling on citizens to stay involved in political and civic affairs.
