Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a 2-month-long traffic disruption along a section of the Thika Superhighway as construction works commence at Kihunguro.
In a notice shared on Monday, October 13, KeNHA informed the public that a section of Thika Superhighway (A2 Road) at Kihunguro will experience traffic disruption along both the Nairobi and Thika-bound service lanes from Monday, October 20, 2025, to Saturday, December 20, 2025.

KeNHA has advised motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with police and traffic marshals during construction.
The notice, signed by Acting Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, includes a detailed traffic management plan showing the working area and hoarding zones to guide motorists through the affected section.
On October 9, KeNHA notified the public of another significant traffic disruption on the Njoro-Molo (B129) Road, which will be closed from Thursday, October 16, to Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The closure is to allow for pavement reconstruction works. The closure point is located about 1 kilometer past the Keringet Factory and 2 kilometers before Molo Town.
According to KeNHA, a diversion has been identified for use during this period, but lorries and long trucks will not be allowed to use it due to a sharp restricted curve.
Motorists operating such vehicles have been advised to use alternative routes. Specifically, those heading to Molo and Mau Summit are advised to use the Nakuru-Mau Summit (A8) Road via Kibunja Junction.
