Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across 14 counties on Tuesday, October 14, to facilitate routine maintenance works.
In a notice on Monday, October 13, the company said the maintenance exercise will affect select areas in Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Mombasa, and Taita Taveta counties.
Most affected regions will experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
In Nairobi County, parts of Juja Road, including Muratina Road, Juja A & B, Strawberry Plaza, Alamin Hospital, and Juja Corner Plaza will be without power.
Other affected areas include Nairobi West, covering Msufu Road, Sumba Road, Naimei Road, ICC Church (Mombasa Road), Paa Crescent, Kifaru Crescent, Swara Crescent, Gandhi Avenue, Kisauni Road, Muthaiti Avenue, Muhoho Avenue, Nairobi West Hospital, Hotel Rio, Kodi Road, Summerdale Hotel and ABSA Bank Nairobi West.

Geta Road, Nyayo Stadium, Masaba Road, Ole Sankale Road, Madaraka Estate, Serene Court, Foundation Court, Ramsey Court, Siwaka Estate, Strathmore University, Lang’ata Technical College, and Madaraka Primary School will also be affected.
In Kajiado County, the outage will affect Ongata Royal Academy, Kandisi, Kandisi Catholic Church, Balozi, Metro, Kambi Moto, and adjacent customers.
In Machakos County, a wide area will be impacted, including UBC, People’s Park, Maruba, Legend Area, Iluvya Road, Katoloni, Kwa Mwau, Vota, Katumani, Kwa Katheke, Kimutwa, Love, Kaathi, Makaveti, Masaani, Mutuyu, Mangauni, Kalama, Kinoi and Kamweleni.
Other affected areas are Kwa Mutisya, Mbondoni, Yaitha, Kwa Kavoo, Kyawalia, Kyamuthinza, Membani, Kitonyini, Muumandu, Lumbwa Complex, Kivandini, Ngiini, Nyayo, Malili kwa Kea, Kavyuni, Katuaa, Mutulani, Kasunguni, Iiyuni, Veve, Miaani, Mbuani, Kola, Katanga, and adjacent areas.

In Uasin Gishu County, areas around Kapkawa, Simbi, and Kili Farm will be affected.
In Nandi County, two areas will experience shorter outages, Kamimei (Serem Boys, Kapkemich, St. Makarios, Kapkures, and adjacent areas) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Kabiyet (Kabiyet, Kamoywo, and nearby areas) during the same hours.
In Busia County, the power interruption will affect Nambale, Matayos, Bumala, Nambukhu, Mulwanda, and Nambumboto.
In Kakamega County, residents in Sibembe, Sivilie, Sikubale, Mwibale, Khalala, Kanduyi, and neighboring zones will be affected.
In Bungoma County, the outage will cover Kimilili, Kapsokwony, Lutonyi, Misikhu, Lugulu, Mwitoma, Savannah, Munyikana, Kamtiong, Kamusinga, Malaha, Kibingei, Makhese, Lukhuna, and Kamasielo.
In Nyeri County, affected areas include Kangocho Market, Kangocho Secondary School, Kangocho Dispensary, Kiriti Village, Karumaindo Village, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and nearby customers.
Kariko and Mucharage, covering Mucharage Girls, Kariko Market, Kianjai, Kahuaga, Kahihagira, Kiambaa, Kinu Village, and surrounding locations will also be affected.
In Tharaka Nithi County, power will go off in Ikuu, Kirubia, and Mubukuro, including Kiereni, Kirege, Mubukuro, Ndiruni, Cheera, Nkwego, and Kirigi.
In Murang’a County, the outage will hit Matunda and Silanga, covering Matunda Primary and Secondary Schools, Matunda Village, Silanga A and B, and Githumbo.
In Kirinyaga County, the affected zones include Mutitu, Kamuiru, and Njoguini, including Kabaru, Ngorano Coffee Factory, Matere Keriri, Mureithi Manegene, Mugaya, Kamuiru High School, and Njoguini.
In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted in Gitaru, Muthure, and Cura, including Kahuho, Kaimba, Ruku, Rukubi, Kirangari, Gikuni, Nyathuina, and Kihururu.
In Mombasa County, the blackout will affect Vikombani, Ufuta, and New KCC, covering KTDA Miritini, Bollore, New KCC, AVA, TransAfrica Jomvu, ANGOL, KUSCO, Signal African PVC, and Fortuna.
In Taita Taveta County, the areas of Maktau, Godoma, and Saltlick will be affected, including the whole of Maktau, KWS Maktau, Lumo Lions Bluff Conservancy, Godoma, Mwashoti, Kwa Mnegwa, Sarova Saltlick Hotel & Lodges, and nearby regions.
