KeNHA has announced a traffic disruption along a section of Thika Road over the next two weekends.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that a section of Thika Road will be closed at Juja Highpoint (Centurion) in the next two weekends.

In a statement on Thursday, November 6, KeNHA Director General Luka Kimeli said the section will be closed from Saturday, November 8, 2025, to Sunday, November 9, 2025, between 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.

The section will be closed again from Saturday, November 15, 2025, to Sunday, November 16, 2025, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. 

Kimeli said the partial closure will facilitate the milling and recarpeting of the carriageway.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that Thika Superhighway will be partially closed at Juja Highpoint (Centurion) to enable milling and recarpeting of the carriageway as from Saturday November 8, 2025 to Sunday November 9, 2025 between 2300hrs to 0600hrs and from Saturday November 15, 2025 to Sunday November 16, 2025, between 1000hrs to 1400hrs,” KeNHA stated.

The KeNHA Director General urged Nairobi and Thika-bound traffic to use respective adjacent service lanes before rejoining the superhighway.

He also advised motorists to exercise caution and adhere to the proposed traffic management plan.

“Motorists are advised to exercise caution around the work areas, to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” Kimeli added.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road near the Junction Mall area from Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

In a notice, the authority said the disruption will facilitate the erection of a steel structure for the flyover project, which is currently under construction.

“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road around the Junction Mall Area, effective Tuesday, 18th November 2025, to Wednesday, 10th December 2025.

“The disruption is to allow for the erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction,” read the notice in part.

During the period, traffic will be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to accommodate two-way traffic within the section.

The authority urged motorists to exercise caution and to follow directions from police officers and traffic marshals who will be deployed on-site.
