The Public Service Commission (PSC) has withdrawn its recruitment notice for vacant positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a notice on Tuesday, November 18, the commission announced the cancellation of three advertised posts that had been open to applicants.
"Public Service Commission wishes to inform the public that the advertisement for vacant positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been cancelled," PSC stated in the update.
The cancelled positions include Director Foreign Service/Minister II (vacancy number 153/2025) with 37 openings at CSG 5 grade, Deputy Director Foreign Service/Minister Counsellor (vacancy number 154/2025) with 26 positions at CSG 6 grade, and Assistant Director Foreign Service/Counsellor (vacancy number 155/2025) with 23 vacancies at CSG 7 grade.
The commission did not provide reasons for the abrupt cancellation of the recruitment exercise.

According to the original advertisement, interested and qualified candidates had been instructed to submit their applications online through the commission's recruitment portal at www.psckjobs.go.ke by 5:00 PM East African Time on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The PSC had emphasized in its initial notice that it does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, or interviews, warning the public to beware of fraudsters masquerading as commission staff.

The cancellation comes just hours after another government institution opened its doors to job seekers.
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) announced 68 contract and permanent positions available for qualified Kenyan professionals on the same day.
KUTRRH's recruitment drive includes senior management roles such as Deputy Director for Human Resource Management and Development, Deputy Director for Administration, and Assistant Director for Security Services.
The hospital is particularly focused on filling specialist clinical positions, including experts in Gastroenterology, Haemato-oncology, Clinical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, and Pediatric Surgery.
Administrative and finance opportunities at KUTRRH include Principal Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer, Principal Accountant for Credit Control, Senior Administrative Officer, Senior Office Administrator, and Senior Counsellor positions.
The healthcare facility is also recruiting for various nursing specialties, with 13 positions for Registered Nurse III in General Nursing alone, alongside specialized roles in Critical Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Palliative Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, Oncology, and Cath-Lab Nursing.
Technical and support staff positions range from Assistant Radiographer and Health Records Information Assistant to Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Pharmaceutical Technologist, Laboratory Technologist, and Emergency Medical Technician roles.
Prospective applicants for KUTRRH positions must submit their applications through the hospital's online recruitment portal at https://recruitment.kutrrh.go.ke/ by Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Each application should clearly state the position title and corresponding job reference number.
The hospital has indicated that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further stages of the recruitment process.
