Road accidents have been common in the recent past, with concerned Kenyans pleading with motorists and road users to be careful.

The Makueni accident came just three days after another nasty crash on the Kakamega-Mumias Highway, where one person was killed.

The deceased, named Lynda Aseyo, was a politician and social justice crusader.

According to eyewitnesses, Aseyo was riding on a motorcycle when it was crashed by a Climax Coach bus coming from Mumias en route to Kakamega town.

She died on the spot.

Aseyo served in the Kakamega County Assembly between 2017 and 2022 as a nominated member.

Just five days before the Kakamega accident, a Tahmeed bus was involved in an accident along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway on the morning of Thursday, November 13, at McKinnon in Kwale County, leaving one person dead.

Several other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The bus, which was travelling from Nairobi to Mombasa, was captured in videos lying on its side with shattered windows.

According to the Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA), this marks the second Tahmeed bus accident within a week.
