The Nursing Council of Kenya has offered candidates who failed the August 2025 licensure examination another opportunity to retake the test early next year.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, December 10, the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) announced that unsuccessful candidates from the August 2025 examination will be eligible to re-sit the exam between February 17 and 20, 2026.

"The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) wishes to inform candidates who were not successful in the August 2025 Licensure Examination that the Council has made a consideration for them to re-sit the examination between 17th and 20th February 2026," the notice stated.

The Council has scheduled the application period for the February 2026 re-sit examination to run from November 10 to December 31, 2025. Eligible candidates have been advised to prepare and submit their applications within this window.

"The application period for the February 2026 examination will run from 10th November to 31st December 2025. Candidates are advised to prepare accordingly," the NCK added.

The Council indicated that additional information regarding the re-sit process and related guidelines will be communicated through its official platforms in due course.

Meanwhile, the Nursing Council has also issued guidelines for successful candidates to collect their certificates. In a separate notice issued on December 5, the NCK outlined the requirements for certificate collection.

Candidates who pass the examination are required to present themselves in person at NCK offices with the specified documentation. The mandatory requirements include an original identity card or passport, as well as a valid NCK practice license.

The Council emphasized that certificates are ready for collection 30 days after registration. Additionally, successful candidates can download their NCK license from the NCK Portal within 48 working hours after registration.

However, the Council has implemented a strict policy regarding certificate collection, stating that certificates cannot be collected by a representative. If a candidate wishes to send a representative, they must come in person to authorize this arrangement.

For any questions or assistance regarding registration, licensing, or certificate collection, candidates have been directed to contact the Council via email at [email protected] or [email protected].
