"Good afternoon, please note that the following areas will be on planned maintenance tomorrow, Friday 12.12.2025," Kenya Power stated in its notice.
The company conducts routine maintenance exercises to ensure the reliability and efficiency of its power distribution network nationwide.
This announcement comes as Kenya Power continues its broader transformation agenda aimed at modernizing operations and improving customer service delivery.

In early December, the power distributor announced a significant policy change requiring all applications for new electricity connections to be submitted exclusively through its online platform.
"Individuals and businesses seeking new electricity connections from Kenya Power will now be required to submit their applications exclusively through the Company's website using the link https://selfservice.kplc.co.ke/public/ that is accessible using computers and mobile phone devices," the company stated.
The transition to digital applications marks a complete departure from traditional paper-based processes, with Kenya Power no longer accepting manual applications at its service centers and banking halls.
"The move, which takes effect this week, is aimed at improving operational excellence, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring faster processing times for all electricity connection requests," the company explained.
Managing Director and CEO Joseph Siror emphasized that the digital shift is central to the company's modernization efforts, addressing longstanding challenges in service delivery.
"Digitisation is central to Kenya Power's transformation agenda, and by streamlining how customers apply for electricity, we are not only improving efficiency but also building a modern utility that is responsive, inclusive, and transparent," Siror said.
To ensure a smooth transition to the new digital platform, Kenya Power has deployed support teams across the country to assist customers in navigating the online application system.
