Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha released the results on April 15, 2021.
The elated legislator took to social media to congratulate his son, Mathenge Imani Gachuiri who scored 408 marks in the exams.
"Congratulations my son you have made us extremely proud," Kega stated, crowning the message with Ngima yumaga mùtuini, a Kikuyu version of the proverb, the apple does not fall far from the tree.
Gachiuri is an alumni of Juja Preparatory School.

590,450 of the candidates were boys representing (50.07%) whereas 588,742 were girls representing (49.93%).
Girls dominated the top positions in the country in the 2020 KCPE exams, with four out of the top five being female.
Mumo Faith Kawii emerged as the top student in the examinations with 433 marks.
Kega is the only legislator to publicly congratulate their children who were candidates in the exams.
Kenyans yesterday took a swipe at former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale for not congratulating any of his children.
Khalwale had candidates in each year between 2014 and 2019 sitting for national examinations.
