DCP Leader Rigathi Gachagua has told the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin that he is ready to record a statement about how he got intel about the investigations into Dr Victoria Mutiso's murder.
Speaking in Kiambu on Friday, August 7, Gachagua dismissed DCI Amin's claims that he was in contact with one of the suspects who had been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.
However, he stated that Amin should go to Wamunyoro to obtain a statement from him, adding that he was too 'big' to avail himself at the DCI Headquarters.
"I was in Wamunyoro, and if you think someone called me, why don't you come to my home and I will write a statement because I cannot come to you. I am above the level of DCI and the police," Gachagua stated.
He claimed that Amin tried to tie him to the case just because he disclosed classified information that could not have been obtained from anyone other than the police.

"You are saying that the suspects spoke to Riggy Gee because you do not want to admit that police officers are the ones giving information to Kenyans and leaders. You have lost the civil service," the ex-Deputy President added.
The DCP leader maintained his allegation against Amin, whom he accused of trying to cover up the murder after receiving instructions from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
He further claimed to have a dossier containing names of police officers who attacked worshippers at Witima Church.
Earlier, the DCI Boss claimed that investigations had established that Gachagua had been in contact with one of the prime suspects in the case, and the bodaboda rider who ferried the suspect to the crime scene.
"Unfortunately, what came out very clearly is that Hon Rigathi Gachagua was in communication with one of our main suspects in this matter who was feeding him with information. Apparently, he also appears to have been in communication with the boda boda rider," he stated.
Amin added that if the DCP Leader meant well, he could have reached out to him to tell him about the information he had received about the case, rather than disclosing it publicly.
Earlier, Amin had revealed that two police officers were involved in the murder of the late Dr Victoria Mutiso. These include Police Constable Elijah Kibelion Kemboi, who pulled the trigger and Nderi Police Post OCS Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang, who sourced the weapon.
He added that a boda boda rider was also arrested after he was found to be at the crime scene. Daniel Mwangi Njoroge and Kelvin Ngugi Kinuthia are alleged to have organised the operation to end the doctor's life
