KPLC Announces Power Shutdowns in 9 Counties on Tuesday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across nine counties on Tuesday, September 22.

In a notice on Monday, September 21, the company said the planned shutdowns will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Nyeri, Embu, Kiambu, Kitui, Kilifi and Mombasa counties.

In Nairobi, customers in part of Karen along Bogani Road will be affected. The interruption will cover part of Bogani Road, Kumbe Road, Baobab Estate and adjacent customers.

Another shutdown in Nairobi will affect part of Gachie. Areas listed include part of Gachie, Waiver Bird, Kinanda Road, Kihara Road and adjacent customers.

In Uasin Gishu County, the scheduled interruption will affect Kapkoi and Bayete. 

The areas listed include Cheptiret Primary, Kapkoi, Kapkoiga, Kerita, Koiluget, Rurigi, Ndungulu, Megun, Chelalachibei, Kapkeno, Ndanai, Tarakwa, Burnt Forest, Kondoo, Cherus and adjacent customers.

Kisumu County will also experience an interruption around Guba Market. Wathorego Market, Alango Market and adjacent customers are among those listed for the shutdown.

In Nyeri, the Tree Tops area will be affected. The scheduled interruption will cover Expages, Mweiga Mary Immaculate Hospital, Tree Tops, Sasini Estate, Njengu, Waihenya Estate, Mweiga Estate Water Pump and adjacent customers.

Embu County will have an interruption covering Mutuobare and Kiambere. 

The affected areas include Mutuobare, St. Kizito Primary, Karura, Gatete, Rutumbi, Gwakarigo, Isacco, Ceria, Tarda Farm, Kiambere Police, Kiambere Staff Camp, Kiambere Power Station, Kiambere Complex, Ngiire, Kavui and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, Kenya Power has listed Lower Kabete Market and Kingeero among the areas scheduled for interruption. 

Customers in Lower Kabete Market, Kingeero, Kingeero Mwisho, Whitehouse, Ndongoro and adjacent areas will be affected.

Kitui County will have a scheduled shutdown covering Migwani, Nzeluni and Kyome. 

The listed areas include Migwani Town, Kithaunani, Thokoa, Musuani, Kanyekini, Kitumbi, Mukuuni, Nzeluni, Kyome, Mbau, Ilalambyu, Kithaunani and Kyambo, together with adjacent customers.

In Kilifi County, parts of Mariakani are scheduled for interruption. 

The affected locations include Msumbini Primary, Msumbini Village, Mariakani Majengo, Mariakani Makaburini, Mariakani Town, Mariakani Market, Mariakani Police, Mariakani Secondary, Jakaba, Miracle Church, VIL, KALRO, Way Bridge, Tosha, Leed, Shell Petrol Station, 15th & 77th Battalions, Airforce, Kavuka Primary, Mkilo and adjacent customers.

Mombasa County will also experience a scheduled power interruption in parts of Jomvu. 

The areas listed include Ufuta, Weldcom, Southern Shipping, Transtrailers, Shilaji, KTDA Miritini, Bayusuf, Crown, Petrocity Jomvu, Hakika, Jomvu Medical, Jitoni, Aldina and adjacent customers.
