KPLC Announces Power Supply Disruptions in 5 Counties on Friday

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in five counties on Friday, September 18, as part of maintenance works.

In a notice on Thursday, September 17, the company said the outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Kajiado, Kisumu, Nyeri and Meru counties.

In Nairobi County, customers in Mountain View Estate and surrounding areas will experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Waiyaki Way, Mountain View Estate, Thiongo Road and Marenga Road, as well as adjacent customers.

In Kajiado County, the planned outage will affect Matasia, Oloika and Nkoroi from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Areas listed for the interruption include Kamura, Oloika, Nkoroi, Arap Moi, St. Nicholas and parts of Matasia, together with adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, power will be interrupted in Ridge Park Estate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The outage will also affect adjacent customers in the area.

In Nyeri County, Kenya Power has scheduled an interruption affecting Nyaithee Village from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Nyaithee Village, Nyaithee Primary School, Nyaithee Coffee Factory and Githiru, alongside adjacent customers.

In Meru County, customers in Kiguchwa, Githu and Amungaa will experience an outage from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas in Meru include Mucuune, Maliolo, St. Stephen Primary School, St. Benedict Primary School, Kiguchwa Primary and Secondary Schools, Kiguchwa Shopping Centre, Kiguchwa Safaricom, KK Mwethe Primary School and Kaliene Secondary School.

Other affected locations are Ametho Boarding, St. Lucy Kirigwa, Ankamia Mixed Day Secondary School, Ankamia Primary School, Ngutu Shopping Centre, Miurine Secondary School, Karurune Village, Gachuuru Market, Githu Market and Githu Mixed Secondary School.

The interruption will also affect Kiarau, Irindiro Secondary School, Kieni TBC, Amungaa and Murichia Coffee Factory, as well as adjacent customers.
