KPLC Announces Power Supply Cuts in 8 Counties on Tuesday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions across eight counties on Tuesday, September 29.

In a notice on Monday, September 28, the company said the planned outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Samburu, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kisii, Migori, Nyeri, Embu, Kiambu and Kitui.

In Nairobi, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mbaazi Avenue and Hatheru Road, affecting part of Naivasha Road, part of Riara Road, Riara Close, the whole of Hatheru Road, Kingara Road, and Kingara Close.

Part of Gitanga Road, Amboseli Road, part of Mbaazi Road, Mbaazi Close, Merlin Court, Naivas Mbaazi Avenue, EBRU TV, part of James Gichuru and adjacent customers will also be affected.

The Githunguri Road and Laikipia Road areas in Nairobi will also experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Githunguri Road, Laikipia Road, Migori Road, Tabere Crescent, Kasuku Centre, part of Oloitoktok Road, part of Ring Road Westlands, Killeleshwa Police and adjacent customers.

In Central Rift, the Kinamba, Sipili and Oljabet areas will be affected. 

The interruption will cover Ol Moran, AAA Growers, Mwanzi Farm, Mochongoi, Kabel, Posta, Mugie Ranch, Churo, Tangulbei, Suguta Marmar, Kisima, Maralal Township, Maralal Water Supply, Poro Radar Station, Loosuk, Credible Blooms, Thome Shopping Centre, Rumuruti and adjacent customers.

In North Rift's Uasin Gishu County, Sirikwa and Cicada will experience an interruption affecting Sirikwa Hotel, Cicada, AP Line, Zion Mall, MUSCO Towers, Eastern Avenue and adjacent customers.

Another interruption in Uasin Gishu will affect Kipsinende, Kipkorogot and Naiber, including Kipsinende, Plateau, Naiberi, Carbacid, Abra School and adjacent customers.

In Western Kenya, residents and businesses around Miguye in Kisumu will be affected, including Miguye Primary School, Miguye Village and adjacent customers.

The Huma area in Kisumu will also experience an outage affecting Huma Girls, Arude School, Marera and adjacent customers.

In South Nyanza, the Keroka and Rianyoka areas of Kisii will be affected. 

The interruption will cover Keroka Hill-Top Hotel, St. Charles Lwanga Ichuni Girls, St. James Ichuni Secondary, Keroka Technical Training College, Nyanturago Secondary, Nyamasibi Market, Masisi Secondary, Hotel ya Abuga, Matibo Secondary, Hema Chitago Secondary, Nyamagesa Secondary and adjacent customers.

In Migori, the Nyabohanse and Isibania areas will be affected, including Isebania Town, Sorore Water Treatment, Moi Nyabohase, Nyangoge, Nyankore, Komakara, Kubweye, Komosoko, Tagare, Nuru and adjacent customers.

In Mt. Kenya, Solio Ranch and Solio Lodge in Nyeri will experience an interruption affecting Solio Ranch, Solio Lodge, Solio Ranch Office, Solio Cattle Dip, DOD Transmitter and adjacent customers.

In Embu, Majengo will experience an outage from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., affecting Majengo Chief’s Camp, KIE Majengo, County Secondary and Primary, Salkan Hotel, Shell Petrol Station, Kwetu Hotel and adjacent customers.

The Majimbo, Kamiu and GTI areas in Embu will then experience an interruption from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., affecting Jumbo Nuts, Majimbo Low-Cost Houses, Kamiu Catholic, GTI Staff Quarters and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu, Kahawa Sukari will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Kahawa Sukari Estates, Felma Shopping Centre, Quickmart Supermarket, Shell Petrol, Naivas Supermarket, Kahawa, Sukari Police Station, Uhuru Kenyatta Primary and Secondary schools and adjacent customers.

The Kimunyu and Muthaite areas in Kiambu will also experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Nando Farm, Ruera Estate, Karunguru Estate, Croton Ridge Estate, Muthaite Farm, Murram Estate, New Rain Hotel, Kays Estate and Daykio Estate, as well as adjacent customers.

In Kitui, Mutukya, Miambani and Kamandio will experience an outage from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Mutukya, Mutulu, Mutula Market and Primary School, Kwa Wewa, Miambani, Kamandio, Kiviu, Mukuku and adjacent customers.
