Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of seven counties, including Nairobi and Nyeri, on Monday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of seven counties on Monday, October 12 to facilitate maintenance and upgrade works.

In a notice on Sunday, October 11, the company said the outages will affect Nairobi, Kajiado, West Pokot, Nandi, Nyeri, Meru and Embu counties. 

Most of the affected areas will experience power cuts between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, while parts of Nandi County will have a shorter interruption lasting one hour.

In Nairobi County, the scheduled interruption will affect Peponi and surrounding areas from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The affected locations include Peponi Road, General Mathenge, Donyo Sabuk and Spring Valley Road, as well as adjacent customers.

In Kajiado County, parts of Ngong will experience a power blackout from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

The affected areas include parts of Ngong Town, Zambia, Scheme 305, Elpaso, Olepolos, Vet Farm, Juanco, Kangawa and Bulbul. 

The interruption will also affect the whole of Kerarapon, Masai School, Jogoo Road and adjacent customers.

In West Pokot County, the interruption will affect Serewo and Kacheliba from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. 

Areas listed in the notice include Pkopoch, Serewo, Kitelakapel, Kacheliba, Orolwo, Kodich, Konyao, Kasei, Kiwawa, Kamketo, Chelopoy and Alale, alongside adjacent customers.

In Nandi County, residents and businesses in Himaki and Lelwak will experience a shorter electricity interruption from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

The affected areas include Himaki, Soko Mjinga, Lelwak, Kogamei, Lengubei and Nduroto, as well as adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, a scheduled blackout will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in areas around King’ong’o Prison and Garden Estate. 

The interruption will affect Coca-Cola, King’ong’o Primary, Good Shepherd Academy, Nyeri Primary, Rware Secondary, Nyeri Baptist, Nyeri Inn, Autospin Garage and King’ong’o Estate, among other adjacent customers.

In Meru County, the power interruption will affect Igembe Tea Factory and Kimongoro from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The affected locations include Igembe Tea Factory, Igembe Boys, Amungeti C/Fact, Kimongoro Market, Athi Market, Red Canteen, Kilindine, NCME, Antobochiu, Kaweru, Ntherone, Kianda, Ugoti, Teera, Marega, Amwamba, Kagoma and Ikuu, as well as adjacent customers.

In Embu County, the scheduled interruption will run from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, affecting Gatondo, Kiamuringa and surrounding areas. 

The locations listed include Gatondo, Maramuri, Kiamuringa, Havard, Muchonoke, Mungau, Minuri, Mwangaza, Kambaru, Makunguru, Siakago Market, Siakago Girls, Gitiburi and Gikuyari, alongside adjacent customers.
