This comes weeks after PLP Party leader Martha Karua lost her father, Mwalimu Jackson Karua.

Mwalimu Karua passed away on Sunday, September 27, at his home in Kirinyaga County.

In a statement, Karua said her father died after she and her siblings visited him. She mentioned that they spent time with him and sang one of his favorite gospel hymns, unaware that it would be their final time together.

Karua said she received the news of her father's death while travelling back to Nairobi.

"On my way back to Nairobi, I received the news that my beloved father had breathed his last," she stated.

Mwalimu Karua was laid to rest on Saturday, October 3, with several opposition figures including Edwin Sifuna, Kalonzo Musyoka and John Methu attending the event.
