Kenya on Monday, September 6, 2021, received an additional 880,320 doses of the Moderna vaccine from the US Government.
This is the second donation by the US after the first batch arrived on August 23, 202, and the total through the Covax facility stands at 1,760,780.
According to Health CS Mutahi Kagw, Kenya has now received a total of 5,146,780 doses of Vaccines.

Addressing the press, CS Kagwe said, "Moderna is the the second vaccine to be deployed in the country after we started administering AstraZeneca in March this year. Last week as you all know we received 141,600 doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccines which were procured directly by the Kenya government from South Africa under the Africa Union platform."
As of Monday, September 6, 2021, 2,050,377 Kenyans had received their 1st dose and 812,151 Kenyans are fully vaccinated.
