Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has announced that he will oversee his last assignment at the helm of the agency on 24th September 2021.
In a tweet on Monday, Havi noted that he is proud and happy of the achievements LSK has made under his leadership, adding that time has now come to start paving way for a new team.
According to Havi, his last assignment will be on September 24, 2021 after which an elections board will be constituted to chart a way forward ahead of the next elections set for March, 2022.
“The 24-9-2021 LSK SGM will be my last assignment as President. We will constitute the Elections Board and approve IEBC to conduct elections on 17-3-2022,”Havi’s statement read in part.

According to Havi, securing major rulings against the government, stopping BBI and pushing an advisory for dissolution of Parliament were some of the major achievements by LSK under his leadership.
“With over 20 Judgments against Government, advisory for dissolution of Parliament and stop of BBI we have done enough,” he added.
While the LSK boss highlighted some of the key achievements, it also worth noting that under his reign, the society had some low moments including in-house battles over the leadership of the society council.
One key issue of concern has been the holder of the position of LSK CEO, with rival parties from the society, clashing on who should occupy the seat.
The matter is currently in court, awaiting determination.
Havi was elected LSK president on February 28, 2020 after trouncing Charles Kanjama, Harriet Chaggai and Maria Mbeneka.
His term is expected to end in March 2022.
Meanwhile, Havi has already declared that he will be contesting for the Westlands Parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election.
