The National Police Service (NPS) revealed that Osore was promptly arrested by duty police and will face charges related to the misuse of a firearm.
"We caution all licensed firearm holders to exercise restraint and act responsibly when in possession of their licensed firearms, especially during the emotive electioneering period," NPS said in a statement.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in a St John's ambulance.
According to reports, the meeting was scheduled to name Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as the party's presidential flagbearer for 2022 despite an order that suspended the forum.
The FORD Kenya meeting proceeded in another section of the hall at the Bomas of Kenya despite the shooting.
On Wednesday, November 3, the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) suspended the planned National Delegates Conference (NDC) meeting due to two warring groups within the party.
The order was issued after a petition was filed by Crispinus Barasa under a certificate of urgency.
“That pending inter parties hearing and determination of the Notice of Motion application dated November 2, 2021, interim orders for injunction be and are hereby issued restraining the second respondent from proceeding with the NDC,” the tribunal ruled.
