Kenya National Highway Authority has cautioned motorists plying Mbagathi way of planned traffic disruption from Saturday till Monday.

In a statement, KeNHA categorically stated they were closing the road temporarily to erect the fly-over bridge at the T-Mall section.

The closure is scheduled to start at 12:00 AM (EAT) on Saturday, November 6, till the resumption of use on Monday at 12:00 AM (EAT), November 8.

" KeNHA wishes to notify the public that a section of Mbagathi Road, at the T-Mall Roundabout, will experience traffic disruptions. This follows the planned closure of the road to pave way for the erection of the T-Mall footbridge," part of the statement read in part.

Residents from Langata, South C, Ongata Rongai estates who normally use the busy road will be affected during the two-day construction work.

However, the road authority will work on that section of the road in two phases. Motorists will then be outlined with proper traffic guidelines to help ease the traffic snarl-up.

"The work is designed to take place in two phases, where appropriate directions will be provided as shown in the drawings below.

"KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," the road authority stated.

Motorists were urged to exercise caution in the newly renamed road now Raila Odinga way. 

Once complete, the Ksh3billion fly-over bridge will ease traffic along the route.
