KWS has dismissed as fake a widely circulated advert claiming a massive recruitment drive for game rangers and wardens.

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has dismissed as fake a widely circulated advert claiming a massive recruitment drive for game rangers and wardens.

A digital poster shared across social media platforms claimed that 150 vacancies for game rangers had been announced.

However, in a statement on Wednesday, August 6, KWS has come out to clarify that the information is false and should be ignored.

"Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) warns the public against fake recruitment messages circulating on social media and other social platforms. These messages are false and do not originate from the Service," the statement read.

KWS further emphasized that there is no ongoing recruitment and urged Kenyans to be cautious of misleading information.

"Currently, no recruitment is ongoing. The documents being shared are fraudulent and should be ignored," the statement concluded.

This comes two months after KWS put out another statement raising alarm over a viral advertisement announcing the recruitment of rangers.

In a statement dated Tuesday, June 3, the service warned Kenyans that the advertisement did not emanate from it.

KWS added that fraudsters were behind the fake advert, further cautioning Kenyans against taking part in the fake recruitment exercise being done online.

"Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has become aware of fraudulent recruitment advertisements and fake online portals circulating on social media, falsely claiming affiliation with KWS.

"We urge the public to be vigilant - KWS does not conduct recruitment through unofficial platforms or unauthorised websites. These are scams designed to mislead and exploit," the statement read.

KWS also advised Kenyans to be vigilant, as it only communicates information on recruitment via its official pages.

"For accurate information, always verify recruitment details through our official channels, including the KWS website and verified social media pages. Stay informed, stay safe," the service advised.
