Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu has escaped death narrowly after being involved in a ghastly road accident.
The accident occurred at Kavenge along the Thika-Mwingi highway on Sunday night around 11 pm after his vehicle collided with a tractor.
His official driver succumbed on the spot. Three people sustained injuries.
The driver Jethro Kyallo is the former MP's brother.
The three and the MP were rushed to Matuu Level Four Hospital for treatment.

Mutambu was on his way to Nairobi from river Enziu where a bus belonging to St Joseph's Seminary Mwingi had a tragedy that left 32 people dead.
The bus, which was heading to a wedding, plunged into river Enziu when the driver was trying to cross a flooded bridge.
Mutambu's close family members are among those who perished at the river Enziu accident.
He had joined other leaders including Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and many other local leaders in overseeing rescue efforts.
The wreckage of the school bus was retrieved on Sunday evening and efforts to retrieve more bodies are expected to continue on Monday.
