Mumias East MP Ben Washiali has announced that he will not be running for office in the 2022 general election. 

The legislator made the announcement on Sunday, January 2, 2022, via his social media platforms. 

Washiali stated that he will instead direct his resources and energy to campaign for Deputy President William Ruto as he seeks to be the next President of Kenya. 

"I will not be vying as an MP Mumias East. I will dedicate all my energy and resources to UDA Party, and election of William Samoei Ruto," Washiali said.
